One person has lost his life, with five others sustaining injuries as a result of a ghastly collision between two vehicles on the third main land bridge.

Confirming the accident, the LASMA revealed that the accident happened after a J5 Ford bus (FKJ 724 YC) collided with a Mercedes truck (FKJ 746 YC) at Ilubirin, inward Sura, along the Lagos Third Mainland Bridge.

The LASMA arrived the accident scene, and with the help of by standers, were able to save four of the trapped victims, though one person succumbed to his injuries during the crash.

Following investigations, it was discovered that the J5 Ford bus had experienced a brake failure while traveling at high speed, leading to the accident.

All survivors were swiftly transported to the General Hospital on Lagos Island for immediate medical attention while the LASMA’s team cleared the road.
