In recent news, over 10 persons have been confirmed dead, while 295 people have been arrested.

According to reports from Zagazola Makama, a security outlet, 32 other people were said to have sustained injuries during the process.

The news outlet added that the Shiites were armed with firearms, cutlasses, catapults, sticks, stones, and homemade petrol bombs, and allegedly launched an attack on military personnel stationed at Banex area along Aminu Kano Crescent.

Tension As Shiites, Security Agents Clash In Abuja

This act led to a retaliation from the military personnels, who shot to disperse the crowd, and arrested scores others.

In response, security operatives used minimal force to disperse the protesters,” a senior officer said. “We were able to arrest 19 suspects at the scene, while others fled in different directions.”

3 military personnels and other civilians who were injured have been taken to Gwagwalada Specialist Hospital for medical attention.
