The inmates, who are said to have been convicted for murder, amongst other crimes are currently on the run, as the police investigates.
The police force are currently on hot pursuit of ten escaped inmates in New Orleans.
Daily Report Nigeria gathers that the inmates were said to have escaped the facility by breaching a wall behind a toilet.

This happened on Friday, 16 of May, 2025.
The inmates were identified as Corey Boyd, Dkenan Dennis, Jermaine Donald, Derrick Groves, Antoine Massey, Robert Moody, Kendell Myles, Gary Price, Leo Tate, and Lenton Vanburen, ranging in age from 19 to 42.
A New Orleans Sheriff who confirmed the case noted that a foul play might be involved, adding that three jail employees have been suspended without pay pending the completion of investigations.
“We have indication that these detainees received assistance in their escape from individuals inside of our department.”
Sheriff Hutson acknowledged,
“We do acknowledge there is no way people can get out of this facility without there being some type of lapse in security. It’s almost impossible…for anybody to get out of this facility without help from the outside.”
A photo from the sheriff’s office showed the words “To Easy LoL” and an arrow pointing to the hole in the wall.
Three of the escapes have been found in different parts of the city and were re-apprehended.
The police revealed that investigations are ongoing as they’re currently pursuing “active leads” on apprehending the others. They will be relocated to Louisiana state prisons upon recapture.
