A member-elect for the 10th National Assembly to represent Jalingo, Yorro, and Zing Federal Constituency, Samaila Maihanci is dead.
Andeteran Irimiya, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP State Publicity Secretary disclosed the news in Jalingo.
Irimiya confirmed that Maihanci died early Saturday after a brief illness.

He said:
“We woke up this morning with the very shocking news of the death of a member-elect for Jalingo, Zing, Yorro Federal constituency of Taraba.
“Samaila was a young and promising politician who was loved across the board, and that is why he won the election in the constituency that PDP has been losing over the years.
“The PDP wishes to condole with the immediate family, friends, well-wishers, and the entire constituents over this irreparable loss.”
Checks revealed the late Maihanci won the election in the constituency where PDP has been finding it difficult to win over the years.
The State Publicity Secretary further prayed to God for the family during their trying time and also for the soul of the deceased to have eternal rest.
