  • A gang of bandits have launched a spree attack, killing and destroying in Kebbi state.

  • The attacks were said to have been orchestrated by the infamous Lakurawa militant group.

  • The attack was carried out due to the killing of the the leader of the terrorist group.

A total of six villages have been raided by Militants in Kebbi state.

Daily Report Nigeria gathers that a total of six villages were burnt as a form of retaliation by the dreaded Lakurawa bandits.

The attack happened in the Arewa Local Government Area on Sunday, March 9.

According to reports, the group launched the attack following the killing of its leader, Maigemu.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the Kebbi state police command, Nafiu Abubakar said the militants stormed the communities, including Birnin Dede, burning it down as well as other neighboring communities.

The last village was spared due to presence of the military.

“The attack happened on Sunday. They targeted six villages, killing 11 people and leaving two others in critical condition. We are on their trail, and God willing, we will apprehend them soon,” Abubakar said

He added that while 11 deaths were confirmed, while two people were critically injured.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of Arewa Local Government Council, Alhaji Sani Aliyu, disclosed that the victims had been buried in accordance with Islamic rites.
