The approval of 11 new universities by the President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sparked nationwide reactions.

The event which happened during the Federal Executive Council meeting held in Abuja on Monday 3rd March, 2025 signed 11 new Universities which have passed the standard education test.
Since the provisional licenses hit the media, notable figures have weighed in their opinion on the issue. While some commended the act by the president, others criticized it stating that more effort should be on standardizing the ones in place than approving new Universities.

However, the president responded that his decision lies in his commitment to expanding the frontiers of educational opportunities and infrastructure.”
This was made known by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare, who shared the announcement of XÂ formerly known as Twitter.

- New City University, Ayetoro, Ogun State.
- University of Fortune, Igbotako, Ondo State.
- Eranova University, Mabushi, Abuja.
- Minaret University, Ikirun, Osun Annex.
- Southern Atlantic University, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
- Monarch University, Iyesi-Ota, Ogun State.
- Tonnie Iredia University of Communication, Benin City, Edo State.
- Lens University, Ilemona, Kwara State.
- Kevin Eze University, Mgbowo, Enugu State.
- Abubakar Toyin University, Oke-Agba, Kwara State.
- Isaac Balami University of Aeronautics and Management, Lagos State.
