On Thursday, a truck accident reportedly occurred in Plateau State, resulting in 12 confirmed deaths and 30 injuries.
The accident took place
at the Hawan-Kibo community of Riyom Local Government Area (LGA).
It was said that the truck was carrying bags of grains and people and was descending a hill on a dilapidated road when it crashed into a ditch in the afternoon.

Eyewitnesses reported that the trailer spilled its contents in the ditch, leaving many of the victims dead on the spot.
Mr Godwin Alphonsus, the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Plateau State told PUNCH in Jos on Thursday evening.
Alphonsus said:
“It was a lone crash. The trailer was carrying bags of grains and human beings. It had a brake failure and crashed into a ditch while ascending a hill. The accident happened in the afternoon on Thursday.”
