A young boy has been confirmed dead after being electrocuted in Lagos state.

According to reports, the boy, 17 was said to have been working with his step father at a building construction site when the tragedy struck.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin noted that the boy was working when he stepped on a life wire which was connected to a pole careless, and died on the spot.

The case was reported to the Agbado Police Division on Aug. 2, at 1pm by the boy’s mother, name withheld.

Hundeyin said,

“In the process of work, the boy stepped on life wire that was carelessly connected from an electric pole and he died on the spot.

“He was rushed to the hospital and was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.

The scene was visited by a team of detectives from the division.

 

“The corpse has been removed from the scene.

“However, no mark of violence was seen.

“The stepfather has been brought to the station for questioning.

“Investigation is ongoing.”
