The Ogun state police force have arrested one Sobando Semilore, a 17-year-old student for theft.

Daily Report Nigeria gathers that the suspect, who is a student of Olabisi Onabanjo University was caught while attempting to sell the phones he stole in Ago-Iwoye, Ogun state.

Confirming the incident in a statement released by the Ago-Iwoye police division, it was gathered that Semilore was caught with a Samsung S21 valued at ₦350,000 and an iPhone 14 Pro Max worth ₦650,000, belonging to Muktapha Adenugba.

The statement reads:

PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT ON DECEMBER 17, 2024, AT APPROXIMATELY 5:00 PM, A SURVEILLANCE ANTI-CRIME PATROL LED BY INSPECTOR MORUFU OLAJIDE ARRESTED A SUSPECT ON SUSPICION OF THEFT. 

“SOBANDO SEMILERO, A 17-YEAR-OLD MALE STUDENT FROM DANMARK HALL IN AGO-IWOYE AND A FIRST-YEAR POLITICAL SCIENCE STUDENT AT OLABISI ONABANJO UNIVERSITY, WAS FOUND IN POSSESSION OF A SAMSUNG S21 VALUED AT ₦350,000 AND an iPhone 14 Pro Max WORTH ₦650,000, BELONGING TO MUKTAPHA ADENUGBA.

“THE SUSPECT WAS ARRESTED WHILE HE WAS NEGOTIATING A SALE AT PEPSI JUNCTION. 

“HE ADMITTED TO STEALING THE PHONES FROM A POOL SIDE IN GARDEEN, A POPULAR RELAXATION SPOT. 

 

“THE PHONES HAVE BEEN RECOVERED, AND THE OWNER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. 

“THE CASE IS UNDER INVESTIGATION, AND FURTHER UPDATES WILL BE PROVIDED.”
