Operatives of the Edo state police command have arrested two people for threats, amongst other crimes.
According to reports, the suspect had texted the victim, threatening to burn down her house and kill her.

The spokesperson of the police command, SP Moses Joel Yamu added that the suspect threatened to do all manner of things to the victim, Evelyn Akpan and her family if she fails to pay the sum of N1.5m.
“On 08/09/2024, a complaint was received from one Evelyn Akpan ‘f’ that on 30th September 2024 an unknown person sent her text messages threatening to burn down her house and assassinate her entire family if she does not pay the sum of One Million, Five Hundred Thousand naira (1,500,000),” the statement read.
“Operatives of the Command through proper investigation tracked down and arrested one Prince Anthony Uwa ‘m’ aged 31 and William Ugiagdor ‘m’ aged 38 who have both confessed to the crime.
