At least two persons have been confirmed dead after a building collapsed on Thursday in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

The building said to be under construction collapsed on Thursday afternoon, living many trapped under its rubbles.

According to a Twitter user identified as @nnjigs, who first shared report of the incident, the building is situated in the Gwarinpa Area of Abuja.

He tweeted;

Just witness a poor collapse of an ongoing construction building in Gwarinpa, Abuja, 4th Avenue.

“People are trapped inside. Please, help inform all necessary agencies.”

The building, located at 7 Avenue area of Gwarimpa, collapsed around 11:00 a.m.

According to a survivor, several of his colleagues were at the place when the building collapsed.
