  • Two Police officers have kicked the bucket, after a heated gun battle with bandits.

  • According to reports, the operatives had received a distress call, of the invasion of a notorious bandit group.

  • Cows, and some of the items stolen by the bandits were recovered.

Two officers from the Kebbi state police command have lost their lives in a gun battle with notorious bandits.

The notorious Lakurawa bandits, were said to have attacked a village, where they stole from a farm and other Fulani settlement.

This happened in Natsini village, along the Argungu-Kangiwa road in Kebbi state.

Confirming the incident, the state command PRO, Nafiu Abubakar said a police team from the Police Safer Highway, upon receipt of a distress call swung into action, where they engaged the bandits in a gun battle.

Abubakar noted that the bandits were forced back to the forest with gunshot wounds, while two officers lost their lives.

He added that the police recovered some of the items stolen.

Also confirming the incident, the Kebbis state commissioner of police, Bello Sabi expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased, while offering prayers for their souls.

Daily Report Nigeria gathers that the king appointed an Imam in the community mosque, a decision which didn’t sit well with the people.
