The Delta State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of Aliyu Hamman, a 20-year-old man accused of stabbing his brother to death in the early hours of January 8.
Police spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, disclosed that the incident occurred around 3:20 a.m. along Poly Road, near Adaigbo Filling Station, Ogwashi-Uku, where the victim was reportedly sleeping before he was attacked.

According to Edafe, the police received a distress report at about 7:31 a.m., prompting the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ogwashi-Uku Division, CSP Israel Okoyomon, to immediately deploy detectives to the scene.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased was allegedly stabbed by his brother, Aliyu Hamman, aged 20,” Edafe said.
He added that the suspect was arrested shortly after the incident, while the knife used in committing the crime was recovered by the police.
The body of the deceased has since been evacuated and deposited at Odua Mortuary, Ogwashi-Uku, where an autopsy will be carried out.
Police authorities confirmed that the suspect remains in custody, while investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.
