2021 AFCON: Ghana Fail to Reach Knockout Stage After 16 Years

Black Stars have failed to progress to the group stage since 16 years when they were trounced by Zimbabwe on their debut in 2006.

Amir Abdou’s side excelled with a 3-2 victory in their AFCON’S tie with Ghana on Tuesday, 18th.

In the 25th minute of the game, the 4x AFCON winners were reduced to 10-men after Andre Ayew was sent off by referee Boubou Traore in the 25th minute of the game.

The team’s hope which was cloudy when they drew their second match with Gabon finally became extinguished following Tuesday’s defeat.

Ghana are therefore, seen on the last spot of the table with just one point in three matches so far.
