The new African Cup Of Nations’ (AFCON’s) prize money for the winner, runners-up, semi-finalists and the quarter-finalists has been revealed.

The disclosure followed a new development which caused the prize money to proliferate.

The step-up was a result of the decision by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

CAF executives had to approve the uptick in prize money during a meeting in Douala, Cameroon on Friday.

Meanwhile, any country that’s fortunate to lift the 2021 AFCON will get a reward of $5 million.

The initial prize money for the winner was $4.5 million, that is now to an 11% increment.

Accordingly, the runners-up will take home $2.75 million, having risen by 10% from the initial $2.5 million.
