The All Progressives Congress has announced May 30th and 31st as proposed dates for its presidential primary election.
The ruling party also proposed May 23 as date for governorship primary.
In a letter signed by Iyiola Omisore, APC national secretary, primary elections for states’ houses of assembly will hold May 11, while the House of Representatives will take place on May 16, and Senate will hold on May 18,

Also, a National Convention to elect it presidential candidate for the 2023 election will take place through May 30 and 31.
The letter addressed to Yakubu Mahmood, Chairman Independent National Electoral Commission read in part;
“This serves as a formal notification, pursuant to the provisions of Section 85 of the Electoral Act 2010 as amended. Kindly arrange for your officials to monitor the exercise accordingly. While hoping to receive your cooperation, please accept the assurances of my highest esteem.”
Meanwhile, reports say the party will not be adopting consensus candidates in the 2023 elections.
