“Earlier today, I met with the Burutu chapter of my party, The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Ward Excos to declare my intention to contest for the Federal House of Representatives, Burutu Federal Constituency and seek their blessing.

“At the meeting, I thanked the party for putting their trust in me and for making me the flag bearer to represent them twice as council chairman in elections past.

“I also listed and highlighted my achievements as a two time Executive Chairman of Burutu Local Govt Area.

“As an elected council Chairman, I undertook and have completed fifty-eight (58) projects most notable of which are the storey building containing 20 one bedroom flats for the councillors, a three bedroom apartment for the Council’s Head of Personnel Management (HPM), a three bedroom apartment for the Treasurer to the council (TLG), 20 constituency projects, rural electrification in Odimodi community, health equipments, power generating plant to power the Council Secretariat, street lighting in Burutu Town, renovation and facelift of the Chairman and Vice Chairman’s lodges etc.

“Again I gave reasons for my desire to become the next Burutu Federal Constituency representative in the Federal House of Assembly; for the people of Burutu to have a rep that knows them and can relate with their pains and desires. For equity and fairness and above all, to be able to sponsor bills that will affect the most common man in Burutu Local Govt Area positively,” he wrote.

The Burutu Federal Constituency is currently occupied by Hon Julius Pondi, who is reportedly gearing up to contest for a third term.
