The lawmaker representing Burutu Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, Julius Gbabojor Pondi, has been reassured of being returned for a third term by his constituents.

The people premised their position on the impeccable records of the lawmaker, who they described as the best representative member the constituency has ever had.

The assurance was reiterated when Pondi led a delegation of the Peoples Democratic Party in a unit-to-unit consultative visit around Ward 11 in Burutu local government area, earlier in the week.

Addressing the electorates, Pondi explained that though the constituency is a very large one with about 78 communities, he has executed visible projects in all the 11 wards.

He stressed that his desire is to attract the needed infrastructural and human capital development, and federal presence across the constituency.

Pondi however, urged the people to vote for all PDP candidates in the forthcoming elections, adding that a top to bottom leadership of the party will ease his job as legislator as well as attracting the needed development.

He said;
“In almost 8 years as a lawmaker in an opposition led government, I have being not just a vocal voice alone.

“I have executed visible projects across the 11 wards in Burutu Federal Constituency. My desire for you is to attract the needed infrastructural and human capital development to you.

“But my job will be made far easier by an Atiku Abubakar led Federal Government, a Sheriff Oborevwori led Delta State Government, as well as Michael Diden as senator and Asupa Forteta as state assembly member.

“I assure you that a vote for me and the PDP from top to bottom will equate more infrastructural and human capital development for our constituency.”

PDP the best friend of Ijaws – Agediga

On his part, the Executive Director for Planning, Research and Statistics on the board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Commission (DESOPADEC), Comrade Shedrack Agediga described the PDP as the best friend to the people of the constituency.

Agediga maintained that everything close to development across the ward ad the entire constituency has been implemented by the ruling party in the state.

He urged the people to pay deaf ears to the lies being peddle by other opposition parties in the name of campaign.

Using the current state of the country as an example, Agediga warned that no political party will be close to being fair to the constituency as much as the PDP.

He said;

“Whatever we have as a constituency since democracy was brought to us by the PDP. The last 8 years that the All Progressives Congress has been in charge of the country has brought us nothing but pain and misery.

“Everything ounce of infrastructural and human capital development has been a product of the PDP, our best friend. Don’t be deceived by the many lies peddled by other parties in the name of campaigning for votes.

“A chance at achieving rapid development will be stunted if you give heed to their lies. The PDP is our best chance at development in every way.”

Our votes are for Pondi, PDP – constituents

Meanwhile, leaders of the various units in the ward testified of the indelible impact the lawmaker has had on the constituency since voted into office.

Expressing satisfaction in his quality representation acumen, the people noted that Pondi can easily be adjudged as the best lawmaker the constituency as ever had.

They added that Pondi needed not to bother about soliciting for votes as he has earned them by way of his quality representation.

Speaking for the constituents, Chief Fidelis Ebah said;

“Julius Pondi is our dear son whose representative acumen has been tested and proven. Your years in office has done brought us rapid development that even the blind can see.

“You didn’t need to bother yourself to come solicit for our votes. They are yours and the PDP hitherto. Returning you to the Red Chamber is non-negotiable.”

The consultative train visited Ofougbene, Odimodi, Kandaghan, Okibou Zion, Agge Sion, Agedi Zion, Sokebolou, Obotobo I, Obotobo II, Youbebe, Obuguru, and Ogulagha communities.
