Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai has disclosed that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate for the 2023 election will come from the southern region of Nigeria.
El-Rufai explained that the national chairmanship post of the party will be from the northern part of Nigeria.
The governor, who spoke during his appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, said: “Our expectation is that our presidential candidate will come from somewhere in the south,”
“It is up to the southern caucus of the APC to now propose to us an acceptable candidate,” he explained.

El-Rufai also expressed confidence that the ruling party will retain the presidential seat.
He said: “I think Nigerians expect much more than we have done, but if Nigerians reflect deeply and compare with the other party, we are still a better choice.
“I believe that in 2023, the APC is going to win the presidential election as well as the majority of the governorship elections,”
