2023 Election: Why Voting Was Delayed – INEC
The Independent National Electoral Commission has stated the reasons why the opening of polling units were delayed by election officials.
INEC Chairman, Prof Mahmood Yakubu during a press briefing on Saturday said insecurity in some states led to delays as well as logistics issues.
Also there was shortage of ballot papers in the Agudama Community in the Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

Findings revealed a shortage of about 48,500 ballot papers meant for the Yenagoa/Kolokuma/Opokuma Federal Constituency elections.
This development further erupted a protest with protesters gathering at Ward 4, Epie 1, which has 47 units, covering Agudama and Akenpai Communities.
They insisted that elections would not hold in their area until the missing ballot papers were replaced.
