2023 Elections: Why I Didn’t Vote For Atiku – Bode George

Former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Bode George has revealed why he didn’t cast his vote for the party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

George made the revelation on Tuesday while speaking with Arise News.

The PDP chieftain said his refusal was due to the PDP not accommodating the people of his zone/region in the party’s top leadership position.

He stated he could not persuade his people to work for a party or candidate who didn’t recognize them.

George mentioned that efforts were made to call the attention of the PDP leadership to the anomaly before the election but were later ignored.

He, therefore, submitted that he can’t be accused of any form of anti-party activities.

He said;

I told them before that if they do not rearrange the top echelon of the management of the party, I will not vote for Atiku, because you know what happened? …Where is my zone? If you don’t consider my people as that important to be part of the top echelon of your management… How do I campaign for you?

“If you don’t respect my people in politics, what am I doing there?”

For the 2023 PDP governorship candidate, Olajide Adeniran (Jandor) he said the candidate followed personal direction and didn’t work with the party chieftains.

He said:

All the normal tenets, routes, expectations from the candidate of the party were not handled properly by this young man (Olajide Adediran). We spoke to him, he headed in the direction that he wanted.”
