A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party in Burutu Local Government Council Area, Hon. Tom Willy has called on those seeking for equity in representation to do so with clean hands.

The revered business tycoon stated this while playing host to the Burutu North and South Coalition for Equity at his Warri residence on Saturday.

Willy, while addressing the group, noted that only equity that is fair to all parties concerned should be projected.

He challenged the group to steer clear of calling for equity with an undertone, or being pushed by individuals with ulterior motives.

The former Supervisory Councillor further distanced himself of any calls distanced himself of any calls for equity that won’t be fair to him or his primary constituency, Ogulagha/Iduwini Ward 11.

He said, “The word equity when implied properly is good, but he who calls for equity must do so with clean hands.

“I charge you to approach your equity train without blemish or being influenced by individuals with ulterior motives.

Continuing, Willy pointed out that there are people in Burutu who have being favored at the detriment of the entire Council Area.

He added that such persons are not fit to demand equity as the odds have favored them against the general will of the people in time past.

“The big question remains who is calling for equity? There are people who have been enthroned against the will of the entire Burutu people. Equity should not be heard in the mouth of such persons,” Willy added.

The BNSCE which comprises of youths from the North and South of Burutu has been on a consultative train towards the outcome of the 2023 general elections.

Meanwhile, Daily Report Nigeria can recall that incumbent lawmaker representing Burutu Federal Constituency, Julius Pondi has declared his intention to run for a third term.

The lawmaker who was first elected in 2015, announced his declaration two weeks ago while playing host “The Julius Pondi Campaign Organisation,” led by its Director General, Togoland Oruebi at his Sokebolou residence.
