In Delta South Senatorial District, Michael Diden, who resigned his position as Chairman of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Commission, DESOPADEC, to contest the seat clinched victory with 176 votes.

It was a tough one in the Delta Central Senatorial District, even though Chief Ighoyota Amori clinched the ticket.

The former Commissioner, who lost the 2015 election to Senator Ovie Omo-Agege of Labour Party, polled 142 votes ahead of his opponent, John Nani with 123 votes.
