The Ijaw community in Ughelli has endorsed the lawmaker representing Burutu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Julius Pondi ahead of the February 25 poll.

The community made up of more than 60% of constituents from Burutu, declared their support for the lawmaker on the grounds of his impeccable records.

One after the other, the electorates drawn from various communities in the constituency, shared testimonies of Pondi’s inputs and projects in their various wards.

Summing up the testimonies, the President of Ughelli Ijaw Community, Chief Funakpo Odogwu described Pomdi as the best man anyone can send on representative business.

Odogwu commended Pondi for his people oriented and open-door policies, adding that the reelection bid of the lawmaker is not up for debate.

He stressed that the body will mobilize the people back to their various units across Burutu to unanimously cast their votes for Pondi.

He said;
“We are all aware of your people oriented projects sited across various communities in Burutu Federal Constituency. You don’t even need to convince us to support you. You’ve earned our support and we’re willing to work for you.

“I can assure you on behalf of the entire Ijaws community in Ughelli people that you have no election. Our only plea is that you outdo your previous record when elected.”

On his part, Pondi recounted all structural projects he executed across the 11 wards in Burutu Federal Constituency, saying that quality representation was his only duty to the people.

Using the bills for the establishment of Federal College of Aquaculture in Tuomo and the Federal Institute for Diving Technology, Sokebolou as a pointer, Pondi assured that more groundbreaking projects await the constituency if elected for a third term.

He said;

“As a representative, the only duty I owe my constituency is quality representation.

“My job is to make the best contribution possible towards attracting the needed development for my people.

“My records are bare for all to see and I assure you that another term will be equal to implementation of groundbreaking projects for Burutu.”

Pondi will become the first man to secure a third term for Burutu Federal Constituency, if he emerges victorious at the end of poll on Saturday February 25.
