Hon Hamza Mohammed, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Gombe State has stated that Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi is unknown in the North.
Hamza insisted that the Northerners were only familiar with just two ‘Obis’; businessman, Obi Cubana, and ex-footballer, Mikel Obi.
Moreso, Mohammed explained that the LP candidate’s popularity was not present in both the North and South.

Hence, Hamza argued that Peter Obi was only popular on social media, which is not necessarily important.
He said:
“I watched Dino Melaye’s program on Channels TV. Dino was right when he said that nobody in the North knows Peter Obi. Let me tell you, aside, from Obi Cubana and Mikel Obi, Northerners don’t know any other Obi.
“Peter Obi’s popularity cannot be seen as having a majority of support from the North or South. He is just a Social Media frenzy, soon his supporters will see this and come to know that politics is not necessarily being popular on social media. By then they will be saying that Obi has been rigged out. Let’s wait and see.”
