The dreams of Nigerian songstress, Tems adding an Oscar Award plaque to her cabinet have been dashed.
This is as Naatu Naatu from the hit Telugu-language film, RRR won the Best Original Song at the 2023 Oscars award on Sunday night.
The song made history by becoming the first Indian film song to win an Oscar Award.
The blockbuster track came out tops against superstar Rihanna’s ‘Lift Me Up’ that was co-written by Tems for Black Panther Wakanda Forever.
Accepting the award, composer MM Keeravani said the song was “the pride of every Indian”
