2023: PDP Presidential Aspirant Secretly Buys Guber Form, Cleared to Contest Primary | Daily Report Nigeria

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, a Presidential aspirant under the People’s Democratic Party, has reportedly obtained the expression of interest and nomination forms for the governorship primary in the State.

Bala Mohammed was recently adopted alongside former Senate President, Bukola Saraki as consensus presidential candidates by the Northern Elders Forum.

However, the governor is eligible to re-contest the governorship seat in Bauchi as he has just a single term under his belt yet.

The report say that Secretary to the Bauchi State Government, Ibrahim Kashim, who recently secretly resigned to purchase the governorship form, is only in the race to act as placeholder for the Bala.

According to Premium Times, Kashim would contest in the governorship primary of the PDP, but would step down for Bala Mohammed if he misses out on the presidential ticket.

An inside source also claimed that Mohammed, who also secretly purchased the governorship nomination form, has been screened, and cleared to contest in the primary.

However, spokesperson for Mohammed’s presidential campaign, Udenta Udenta simply described Mohammed’s clearance to contest the gubernatorial primary as a mere rumour.

“I don’t comment on mere rumours. What I know is that he had been screened to contest for the presidency and he has joined a long list of other candidates,” he said.
