The Chicago State University, United States has confirmed that the Ahmed Bola Tinubu indeed graduated from the institution.

The 2023 presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress caused stirs among Nigerians for failing to produce his primary and secondary school certificates.

The former Lagos State governor had submitted an affidavit to the Independent National Electoral Commission, saying the aforementioned certificates were stolen from his home by unknown persons.

Tinubu said he was on a self-imposed exile when his home was invaded by hoodlums, who carted away his certificates.

However, the APC national leader said he studied at both the University of Chicago and Chicago State University while in the United States.

The controversy forced an arm of the Tinubu Support Group to write to the institution, seeking to find out if its principal is an Alumni of the Chicago State University.

The request was made the Legal Director of the Advocay for Justice and Accountability, O. Ogu Esquire.

The Chicago State University in a response on Monday confirmed that Tinubu is indeed an Alumni of the institution.

The letter signed by Registrar Office of Records and Registration of the institution, Caleb Westberg reads;

To whom it May Concern:

Please be advised that Bola A Tinubu attended Chicago State University from August 1977 – June 1979. He was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with Honors on June 22, 1979. His major was accounting.
