2023 Presidency: ‘Fake News, Jonathan Not Declaring’ – Reno Omokri

Aide to former president Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri has described the news of his boss declaring for the 2023 presidency as fake news.

Omokri was reacting to reports accredited to renowned journalist, Reuben Abati that the former president was set to declare for the seat under the platform of the All Progressive Congress.

‘Jonathan set to declare for 2023 presidency under APC,’ Reuben had said in a tweet on Sunday.

Omokri said the former Bayelsa State Governor, who has received series of calls to enter the race made no such statement.

“Disregard the news credited to Reuben Abati that former President Jonathan will soon declare. He never made any statement like that. At best, it is a figment of the imagination of that journalist #FakeNews!”

Daily Report Nigeria can recall that supporters of the former president staged a protest at his private office in Abuja, calling him to declare for the 2023 presidential election.

In his reaction, Jonathan demanded for youths to involve more in politics, urging them to take advantage of the Not Too Young to Rule act.

He also said he would not declare for the elections, but advised the protesting supporters to watch out.
