The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and and its sister organisation, Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) have both declared their support for the presidential ambition of Peter Obi.

The two unions both threw their weight behind the presidential candidate of Labour Party, whom they described as the best man the country needs at this time.

The NLC and TUC gave their supports in separate addresses to their members in Abuja, on Tuesday.

Speaking at the 10th Memorial Lecture in honour late Pascal Bafya, the NLC President, Mr Ayuba Wabba, said the union was solidly behind Obi and will mobilise to ensure victory for Labour Party in the 2023 general elections.

Wabba said labour must resort to dive fully into politics in a bid to support candidates with the right plans to make life better for its members and Nigerians at large.

In his part, the TUC President, Mr Quadri Olaleye, said “Obi is a face among the presidential candidates that all labour unions are pleased and are ready to work with.”

According to Olaleye, the entire labour movement has accepted, adopted and will surely support, and ensure workers massively vote for Obi in the 2023 presidential elections.

”The Labour Party is stronger, one and formidable and the party has a widespread structure, as there is a worker and a members of either TUC and NLC in every family across Nigeria.”
