Ex-President, Goodluck Jonathan’s aide, Reno Omokri, has weighed in his opinion on the conversation regarding the choice of running mates for presidential candidates of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
This came after two Muslim politicians, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, got the tickets of the APC and PDP respectively.
Several individuals and groups including the Christian Association of Nigeria, have presented divergent views on the topic.

Many have suggested that the political parties should consider a religious balance by opting for Christian running mates.
CAN in particular, warned both political parties to ensure that they go for Christians since their flag bearers are Muslims.
Reacting, Omokri, a member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), opined via Twitter that their picks must not be Christians.
He said:
“Having a Muslim-Christian ticket does not balance Nigeria. The government we have now is Muslim-Christian.
“Look at how imbalanced Nigeria is. Did Osinbajo represent or protect Christians well?
“What Nigeria needs is a reliable government, not a religious government,” he tweeted.
