Unbeaten in 28 tournament games and eyeing a fifth consecutive crown under coach Rena Wakama, they rebounded from an early 11–2 deficit to lead 22–17 after the first quarter and held a 43–37 edge at halftime.
Although Senegal outplayed them 17–7 in the third, D’Tigress rallied decisively in the final period to secure their spot in the title match.
