The first meeting between these two teams on November 19, 2023, ended in a 1-1 stalemate.

Zimbabwe took an early lead in the 26th minute with a stunning free-kick from Walter Musona, exposing some weaknesses in Nigeria’s defense.

The Super Eagles managed to equalize with a penalty from Kelechi Iheanacho.
