  • Ohanaeze says strong political alliances are forming against Tinubu ahead of 2027
  • Isiguzoro warns incumbency alone will not guarantee re-election
  • Nnamdi Kanu’s pardon suggested as a key political strategy
  • ADC openly declares plan to remove Tinubu from office

The Deputy President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, has cautioned President Bola Tinubuagainst underestimating growing opposition alliances ahead of the 2027 general election, warning that coordinated forces across the country are already working to stop his re-election bid.

Isiguzoro said the political battle for 2027 would not be won by incumbency but by strategy, timing, and decisive leadership, stressing that powerful interests are quietly aligning against President Tinubu.

Speaking during a recent interview, the Ohanaeze chieftain warned that discontent among political, economic, and regional blocs could reshape Nigeria’s political landscape before the next election.

“Tinubu must not underestimate the conspiracy against him. This election will be won through strategy, courage, and timely political decisions,” Isiguzoro said.

He noted that rising dissatisfaction across the country has created room for opposition realignments, adding that unresolved national grievances could strengthen these alliances if left unchecked.

According to him, the President’s political survival would depend on how quickly and effectively he anticipates and weakens these emerging coalitions before they become fully organised.

Isiguzoro also urged President Tinubu to consider granting a presidential pardon to the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, describing it as a strategic move that could stabilise the South-East ahead of 2027.

He argued that such a decision could reduce separatist tensions and deny the opposition a powerful mobilisation tool in the region.

“A pardon for Nnamdi Kanu before 2027, preferably on June 12 or October 1 will change the political temperature in the South-East and weaken opposition influence,” he stated.

The Ohanaeze leader further claimed that influential figures, including northern elites, Middle Belt leaders, angry business interests, and retired political and military power brokers, are actively working against Tinubu’s second-term ambition.

Meanwhile, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has openly declared that removing President Tinubu from office is its primary political objective.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, ADC spokesperson Bolaji Abdullahi said the opposition’s mission is clear and uncompromising.

“It’s solely to get Tinubu out of power. That is the agenda. There is no scenario where he remains in power and Nigeria is saved,” Abdullahi said.

He accused the current administration of governance failure, describing some decisions as reckless and dangerous. Abdullahi also criticised alleged legislative manipulation, especially around recent tax laws, calling it unprecedented in Nigeria’s democratic history.

The ADC spokesman further raised concerns over reports that the Federal Government paid $9 million to foreign lobbyists in the United States, questioning the transparency and legality of the process.

“How was the contract awarded? Who approved the payment? What budget line was used?” he asked.
