Alleges Wike once mocked his failed presidential ambition on TV
Media mogul and former presidential aspirant, Chief Dele Momodu, has cautioned President Bola Tinubu to reconsider his political alliance with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mr Nyesom Wike, ahead of the 2027 elections.
Momodu described Wike as “a dangerous character” with a lust for power, warning that the former Rivers State Governor could hijack Nigeria’s collective patrimony if allowed to rise further politically.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Momodu criticised Wike’s recent televised outbursts against political opponents, calling his conduct reckless and unfit for higher office.

“My appeal to President Bola Tinubu is simple: no matter what you hope to gain from Wike in 2027, he is not the kind of character you should promote. He will hijack everything,” Momodu said.
The former PDP presidential aspirant recounted his fallout with Wike during the 2023 elections, accusing the FCT Minister of raising the cost of delegates to $30,000 per person, a figure Momodu claimed was impossible to raise.“He went on air and laughed at me, asking what someone like me who lives on Twitter was doing in the race. That’s when I knew this wasn’t just politics, it was personal,” Momodu added.
Despite their past association, Momodu alleged that Wike had been transformed by power and money, likening his temperament to that of someone under the influence of “esoteric spirits.”
“What I saw on display last Friday was a man soaked in substances. Alcohol and drugs often have the same effect,” Momodu alleged.
