Warns against misinformation as he meets with PDP leaders across 16 LGAs
Former Senate President and Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Reconciliation Committee, Dr. Bukola Saraki, has denied reports linking him or his political associates with a planned move to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), affirming his continued allegiance to the PDP ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Dr. Saraki gave the clarification during a meeting with PDP stakeholders from all 16 local government areas of Kwara State, held at his residence in Ilorin.
Addressing the crowd, he said the gathering was necessary to dispel growing misinformation and to affirm that he remains firmly within the PDP.

“I never directed anyone to join ADC,” Saraki stated, stressing that recent speculation about his defection was “baseless innuendo” not supported by facts.
He described the rumours as a deliberate attempt to mislead party faithful and create internal division.
He explained that the meeting served as a family dialogue to address supporters directly and transparently.

“You’ve all been watching what is happening at the national level. I felt the need to come down and speak to you myself,” he said.
Saraki, who once led the National Assembly, added that he was optimistic about the internal repositioning of the PDP and expressed confidence that ongoing efforts would soon yield “fruitful results.”
He urged members to remain united and focused as the party undergoes strategic restructuring in preparation for the next electoral cycle. “We are committed to PDP. Let no one confuse you,” he added.
