A former Minister of Information and top Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Professor Jerry Gana, has declared that ex-President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan will contest on the PDP platform.
Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the Niger State PDP congress in Minna, Prof. Gana said the opposition party is “ready to return Jonathan as the next Nigerian President.”

“In 2015, former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan said his ambition was not worth the blood of Nigerians. After him, another President ruled for eight years and now another has ruled for two years. Nigerians have seen the difference and the difference is very clear. Nigerians are now asking us to bring back our friend, former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. I can confirm that Jonathan will contest in 2027 as PDP candidate,” Gana stated.
Gana insisted that the PDP’s internal wranglings will not stop its resurgence. He maintained that the party remains Nigeria’s most democratic structure, rooted in grassroots support and popular demand.

“The PDP has tremendous opportunity in 2027 because it is truly a grassroots party. Nigerians love PDP because we have always delivered people-oriented programmes. That is why they are urging us to come back,” he said.
Turning to the economy, the former Minister accused the current administration of blocking investment opportunities.
“This government has a number of evil gatekeepers, keeping away foreign investors. That’s their major problem. Nigeria is the best way to grow your money,” Gana declared.
