“Democracy must work. I left the Labour Party when I was informed that, as long as I remained in the party, INEC would not recognize its leadership, and that the federal government did not want me on the ballot paper,” Obi stated.
He declared his resolve to remain in the 2027 presidential race despite perceived obstacles.
“I will contest the coming election—even if it is held in their bedroom—and if they refuse to transmit results, we will transmit them ourselves,” he added.
Obi assured Nigerians that his administration, if elected, would prioritise investment in education and healthcare, stressing that sustainable development depends on deliberate investment in human capital. He urged citizens to set aside divisions and unite ahead of the 2027 polls.
Describing his ambition as “Operation Rescue Nigeria,” Obi said the mission is aimed at securing a better future for the next generation rather than personal gain.
“Election results must be transmitted online in real time. Whoever fails to transmit results will have them transmitted for them,” he said.
On corruption, Obi pledged to reduce the menace by 60 per cent, maintaining that leadership example is crucial.
“When I became governor of Anambra State, I advised my wife to forget about the office of the first lady. I approved over 100 Certificates of Occupancy of government lands, but none for myself or my family. If you find any, petition me to the appropriate authority,” he declared.
Also speaking, OBIDIENT Movement Global Coordinator, Tanko Yunusa, called for nationwide mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general election, emphasising commitment to transparency and participatory democracy.
