A fire that erupted in Kano State has killed about twenty-three persons, and destroyed properties worth twenty-nine million naira, according to reports.

The above persons and properties were destroyed by fire at different locations across the state last month.

Kano State Fire Service who made the disclosure stated that the total number of damages was contained in a report from its twenty-seven fire stations across the state.

The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Service, Saminu Yusuf in Kano State confirmed the incident.

Yusuf stated that the service, however, was able to save 64 lives and property worth over seventy-three million naira (N73.195 million).

He disclosed that the service received a total of eighty-five fire incident calls during that period.

Other calls that came in included forty-five rescue calls and thirty-nine false alarms.

He further cautioned the public to be careful when handling inflammable instruments.

He said:
