The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Service, Saminu Yusuf in Kano State confirmed the incident.

Yusuf stated that the service, however, was able to save 64 lives and property worth over seventy-three million naira (N73.195 million).

He disclosed that the service received a total of eighty-five fire incident calls during that period.

Other calls that came in included forty-five rescue calls and thirty-nine false alarms.

He further cautioned the public to be careful when handling inflammable instruments.

He said:

“The fire service received an emergency call from our 27 fire stations across the state in April. We received 83 fire calls, 45 rescue calls and 39 false alarms.

“We seize this opportunity to advise the general public to handle fire with care to avoid disasters.”
