3 Arrested With Fake N129bn Currencies In Kano

  • Men of the Kano State Police command have arrested three people, for possessing fake counterfeit notes.

  • The accused were caught with currencies of different denominations to the tune of over hundred billion naira.

The Kano State Police force has confirmed the arrest of there people for the possession of fake currency notes.

According to reports, the total Currencies, which were naira notes, US dollars and CFA were amounting to N129,542,826,000:00.

 

Confirming the arrest in a statement released on Tuesday, the PPRO, SP Abdullahi Haruna noted that the notes were stolen from another person.

Counterfeit currencies equivalent to a total sum of N129,542,823,000 were recovered,” he said

He said the fake currencies included $3,366,000, CFA51,970,000 and N1,443,000.

He further stated that the third person, whom the money was stolen from has also been arrested, and is currently helping the police with investigations on how to apprehend the producers of the counterfeit money.
