There is palpable tension in the creeks of River Forcados, Bomadi Local Government Area, Delta State, after suspected armed youths from Okuama community ambushed fishermen from Okoloba community, leaving three injured and two missing.
The allegation was raised by the Okoloba community chairman, Mr. Clement Koki.
According to Mr. Koki, “the attack occurred around 8pm on Thursday night when Okuama youths suddenly appeared on a tricycle and opened fire on the fishermen at Mein-toruabubor Creek.
“The injured fishermen were treated in the community due to the unsafe security situation on the waterways.

Koki “appealed to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to intervene and restore peace to the area, stating that the community has reported the incident to security agencies.

“The attack has heightened tensions in the region, with Okoloba community calling for urgent intervention to prevent further violence.
The community is “seeking the governor’s assistance to ensure the safety of their people and maintain peace in the creek.”
