Aliyu Yahuza, 20 and two others were on Wednesday January 13, sentenced to seven months in correctional centre each having carnal knowledge of a 14-year-old girl.

The incident reportedly happened on November 13, 2021 at Kofar Waika Quarters, Kano state.

According to Mr Auwalu Dandago, the Police prosecutor, the defendants criminally conspired and took the 14-year-old girl into a house and had sexual intercourse with her one after the other. He noted that the offence contravened the provisions of Section 97 and 387 of the Penal Code.

The three defendants “Aliyu Yahuza”, 20, “Amir Rabiu”, 19 and “Musa Gambo”, 19 were subsequently convicted on two counts of criminal conspiracy and adultery.

Magistrate Farouk Ibrahim Umar sentenced the defendants to seven months in Correctional centre, with hard labour or pay a fine of N20,000 for adultery. He also sentenced the defendants to 12 strokes of cane for conspiracy.
