3 more Clubs Secure Spots in New 36-Team Champions League

Three clubs secured their places in the new 36-team Champions League after the second legs of their play-offs on Wednesday. The clubs advancing are Young Boys, Red Bull Salzburg, and Sparta Prague.

Young Boys progressed with a 4-2 aggregate win over Galatasaray, thanks to a 1-0 away victory where Alan Virginius scored the decisive goal in the 87th minute.

Red Bull Salzburg will make their sixth consecutive appearance in the main phase of the Champions League after a 1-1 home draw against Dynamo Kyiv. They finished the tie with a 3-1 aggregate and will be one of two Austrian teams in Thursday’s draw, alongside Sturm Graz.

Sparta Prague also advanced, completing a 4-0 aggregate victory over Malmo with a 2-0 win in the second leg. The remaining four spots will be decided on Wednesday.
