Ronaldo’s return to Old Trafford meant the registered number 7 jersey belonging to Edinson Cavani is likely to be given to the Portuguese.

Following the official announcement from Manchester United yesterday, that Cristiano Ronaldo will adorn the number 7 jersey initially worn by Cavani.
Speaking for the first time since the announcement, Cavani said;
” He is a legend for the club and returning to that number 7 is something special and I can not deny him.
” He has done so many things not everyone can do and I believe he will help the team win more games.”
Cavani and Ronaldo is likely to be in the squad that will face Newcastle United at Old Trafford on September 11, 2021.
