49.5m Men, 44.4m Women To Vote In 2023 Elections - INEC | Daily Report Nigeria

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that a total of 93,469,008 registered voters would partake in the 2023 elections.

The list comprises of 49,054,162 registered male voters and 44,414,846 female voters who are eligible to vote in the 2023 general elections.

INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, made the disclosure on Wednesday in Abuja during a meeting with the 18 registered political parties.

The voters are will decide the next set of leaders from the president, governors, national assembly and state house of assemblies.

Mahmold also poured cold water on the speculations that the elections may not hold, saying that the commission has no plan to shift, postpone or cancel the elections and other schedules of activities.

A breakdown of the figure, showed that the males constitute 52.5 per cent, while the females make up 47.5 per cent of the total figure.

The statistics also show that Lagos State has 7,060,195 registered voters to top the list, with Kano State coming second 5,921,370 registered voters

Meanwhile, Ekiti State has the least number of registered voters with 987,647.
