6,500 Men Gets Their Penises Cut Off As Penile Cancer Spreads In Brazil

The rapid spread of Penile Cancer in Brazil has left many men without penis in Brazil.

Although penile cancer is rare, Brazil has been noted to have one of the highest cases of this, of about 2.1 per 100,000 men.

Reports proved that between the year 2012 and 2022, a total of 21,000 cases have been confirmed, and according to the Ministry of Health of the country, more than 4,000 deaths and over 6,500 penile amputations have been seen in the past decade.

Another country which has also reported a higher spike in the increment of disease is Germany, which saw a 50% increase between 1961 and 2012. A significant spike was also observed in the UK.

But at this time of reporting, the most common cases are found in Brazil’s poorest state, Maranhão, which was equivalent to 6.1 men per 100,000.
