7 persons were burnt to death in an accident that involved a truck and a bus around the Sandrete Ogunmakin area of Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

Mr. Ahmed Umar, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun Sector Commander, confirmed the accident to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday, stating that three others sustained various degrees of injuries in the accident.

He further explained that the crash happened around 10.40 p.m. A total of 10 persons were involved in the accident and seven were burnt beyond recognition.

He blamed the accident on route violation, adding that the truck and the bus had a head-on collision which resulted in a fire outbreak.

“The survivors were taken to Victory Hospital, Ogere, for medical attention,” he said.

Umar, further cautioned motorists to desist from driving against traffic.
