7 Die in Auto Crash After Attending Tinubu’s APC Rally

No less than seven persons have been reported dead after attending the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential rally.

The APC held its presidential rally in Kano on Wednesday which had a mammoth crowd who declared their support for Bola Tinubu, the party’s presidential candidate.

Thereafter, reports insisted that seven people died in a motor accident along the Kano-Zaria road.

A resident of the town, Tukur Lawan told newsmen that the accident occurred around 6:00 pm when their Golf car collided with an oil tanker. Ten people were said to be aboard when the accident occurred.

Lawan revealed that five people died on the spot and two others were declared dead at the Murtala Muhammed Hospital.

He said:

We all attended the rally, and on our way back, the tragic incident occurred. We woke up today full of sorrow.

“After they collided, the tanker detached from the vehicle and crushed the Golf car against the barricade on the road.”

The eyewitness identified the casualties as Bala Kariya, Barau Kariya, Hamza Huntu, Danladi Gidan Algaita, Musbahu Gidan Diraman, Yakubu Gidan Diraman, and Lawan Gidan Diraman.

P was gathered that political leaders who attended the funeral prayers held at different villages, in villagers expressed shock over the sad incident, according to another resident, Mahmud Abubakar Kiru.
