Officials hail initiative as “game changer” for rehabilitation
The Nigerian Correctional Service, in collaboration with Shammies Unusual Heart Foundation, has inaugurated a National Business and Technical Examinations Board examination centre at the Kuje Custodial Centre in the Federal Capital Territory, enrolling 70 inmates for the 2025 November/December exams.
The launch, themed “Restoring Dignity Through Education and Second Chances,” is part of ongoing efforts to transform the lives of inmates through academic and vocational training.
Representing the Controller-General, the Deputy Controller-General in charge of Training and Staff Development, Mr Amoran Olarewaju, said the initiative would give inmates an opportunity to learn and reintegrate into society as valuable members, helping them overcome social rejection.
