Politicians Should Be Sworn-in With Amadioha, Ogun, Other African Deities - Ohanaeze Stalwart
SHARE

Chuks Igegbu, a chieftain of Ohanaeze Ndigbo has asserted that Nigerian politicians should be sworn into office with Amadioha, Ogun, and other African deities.

Ibegbu, a former National Deputy Publicity Secretary of Ohanaeze stated this during a media chat with newsmen over the weekend.

Explaining reasons for the call, Ibegbu said using African deities to swear in politicians would prevent them from looting the government’s treasury while in office.

He further urged the National Assembly to enact laws that would permit politicians to be sworn in with the use of African deities.

He said, “I advocate that all political office holders in Nigeria be sworn into office using Africa Oaths with our deities.

“Politicians are no longer afraid of the Bible and Qur’an and should be sworn in with African deities to instill fear and honesty in them. Unless this is done, our politicians will continue to loot us dry and mess up our lives.

“Politicians should swear with Amadioha, Ogun, Chockonoze, they will think twice before looting our patrimony. We, therefore, call on the National Assembly to pass a law to that effect immediately.”

Ibegbu also called for the abolition of security votes, adding that the “immunity clause and full-time national and state legislature, at Nigeria’s cost is inhumane and outrageous.

“80 percent of our resources go into servicing non-productive politicians and elites leaving the masses in agony,” he added.

Postpone Tinubu’s Inauguration, Ibegbu tells National Assembly

Meanwhile, Chuks Ibegbu last week called for the postponement of the inauguration of President-elect, Bola Tinubu.

Ibegbu also called on the National Assembly to extend President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration by three months, beyond May 29, 2023.

In an interview with Daily Post on Wednesday, Ibegbu asked the National Assembly to invoke the provisions of the doctrine of necessity to extend the tenure of incumbent administration.
